As a Manager SRE - Database Reliability Team (Remote), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database systems. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize database operations and drive continuous improvement. What you'll be doing 

• Managing a team of Database Reliability Engineers (SREs) and providing technical guidance and mentorship 
• Developing and implementing strategies for monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving database issues to ensure high availability and performance 
• Collaborating with development teams to design and optimize database schemas, queries, and configurations for improved efficiency and scalability 
• Automating repetitive tasks and building tools to streamline database operations, ensuring efficient deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes 
• Conducting performance tuning and capacity planning exercises to proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks 
• Participating in incident response and on-call rotations, investigating and resolving database-related incidents in a timely manner 
• Implementing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability 
• Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in database management and reliability engineering 
• Collaborating with stakeholders to define and implement service level objectives (SLOs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for database systems 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
• 5+ years of experience in database administration, operations, or related roles 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English)  
• Strong proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle 
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting techniques 
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) 
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate tasks and build tools 
• In-depth knowledge of database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and database services 
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills 

Preferred candidates who demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have a proven track record in managing database reliability teams. Experience with distributed database systems and NoSQL databases is highly desirable. Candidates with certifications such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) will be given preference.
