As a Sports Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting sports data to provide valuable insights and support decision-making processes. Your expertise in sports analytics will contribute to optimizing team performance, enhancing game strategies, and evaluating player performance.  

What you'll be doing 

• Collecting and organizing sports data from various sources, such as games, events, and competitions 
• Utilizing statistical models and data analysis techniques to extract meaningful patterns and trends from sports data 
• Developing and maintaining databases to store and manage large volumes of sports data efficiently 
• Collaborating with coaches, players, and team management to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies 
• Creating data visualizations, reports, and dashboards to present insights and findings to stakeholders 
• Conducting performance analysis of individual athletes, teams, and opponents to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities 
• Assisting in the development and implementation of sports analytics tools and technologies 
• Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in sports analytics and data science 
• Collaborating with other data analysts and researchers to drive innovation and contribute to interdisciplinary projects 
• Providing recommendations and actionable insights to improve team performance, player selection, and game strategies 

Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field 
• C1/C2 English Level proficiency (both written and spoken English)  
• Proven experience in sports data analysis, preferably in a professional sports organization 
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis 
• Solid understanding of statistical concepts and techniques 
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and software, such as Tableau or Power BI 
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets 
• Effective presentation skills 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment 

Preferred candidates with a passion for sports and a deep understanding of sports analytics and have experience in working with a variety of sports data and possess the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. An advanced degree in a relevant field and certifications in sports analytics or data science are highly valued. Exceptional analytical skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment are essential qualities. Experience working remotely and familiarity with remote collaboration tools are also advantageous. 

We offer a full-time, US-hours remote job, 40-hour workweek Mon-Fri, with excellent prospects for long-term growth for an ambitious experienced Sports Data Analyst. We can offer HMO and other benefits to Philippine candidates.
